Vector CANtech CAN Database Import for CANbus Gateway Modules
The Vector database file import feature is an efficient way to configure the STACK Data Recording system to interface with a proprietary Vehicle CANbus protocol.
Importing the Vector CANtech database ensures that data from the vehicle CANbus is correctly interpreted with the correct message format.
Messages attributes managed by the import:
- Channel sort name alias
- Channel bit byte position
- Channel data size and type
- Byte order (Motorola / Intel format)
- Sign bit position & interpretation
- Channel value precision
- Peak (Min/Max value) channel monitor
Once a CANbus protocol has been successfully imported, then the Vehicle CANbus channels are selected in DataPro designer from a simple Channel pick list:
The imported CANbus protocol can be shared among any number of STACK data recording systems that are equipped with a CAN Gateway module.
